Title to be decided on final day as Inter and Napoli battle for Scudetto
Inter and Napoli head into Friday’s finale with just one point separating them. Inter lead with a better goal difference, while both face mid-table teams in simultaneous kick-offs.
In the last match before meeting Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final, the Nerrazurri take on 10th-place Como, while Antonio Conte’s team hosts 14th-place Cagliari.
With a number of former Premier League players on his side, such as Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, and Romelu Lukaku, who has scored 13 Serie A goals and provided ten assists this season, Conte, who is in his first season with Napoli, has had an exemplary league campaign. He will hope to conclude the season with the Scudetto.
If they win on Friday, they can secure the title. But if they lose, they will have to anxiously await the news of Inter’s outcome.
Serie A title showdown set for May 23
On Friday, May 23 at 7:45 p.m. GMT (Saturday, 12:15 a.m. IST), both Inter Milan and Napoli will play their final matches of the season simultaneously. Inter will visit Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, while Napoli will host Cagliari at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Napoli enter the final day one point ahead of Inter. However, Inter have a much stronger goal difference (+42) compared to Napoli’s (+30), giving them a strategic advantage.
If Napoli win, they will be crowned champions. If they draw, Inter must win to claim the title. Should Napoli lose, Inter can win the Scudetto with either a win or a draw, depending on the final goal difference.
