Crystal Palace have secured a spot in the UEFA Europa League for the upcoming season.
As the thrilling 2024–25 football season wraps up, clubs are locking in their spots for next year’s UEFA Europa League. The 2025–26 edition of the competition is starting to take shape, with teams qualifying through strong league finishes, domestic cup victories, and playoff triumphs across Europe’s top five leagues and beyond.
This season’s Europa League concluded with Tottenham Hotspur clinching the title, defeating Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United in the final held in Bilbao, Spain.
There are multiple qualification routes this time, especially for domestic cup winners from top-tier leagues who are granted direct entries. One such example is Crystal Palace, who booked their Europa League place with an FA Cup victory over Manchester City.
The stage at which clubs enter the competition is based on their association’s UEFA coefficient ranking. As always, ties are played over two legs, home and away.
Twelve clubs will earn their place in the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League through the qualifying rounds, which wrap up with the play-off stage in August, while thirteen others will go directly into the league phase of the tournament.
As a result, the competition is already beginning to take shape, with several clubs having secured their participation for next season.
There are still a number of fixtures left to determine which other teams will qualify directly. As of now, Crystal Palace are the only Premier League side confirmed, thanks to their FA Cup triumph.
Meanwhile, many top-flight leagues across Europe have yet to finalise their representatives, as the race for Europa League qualification remains open. Here’s a breakdown of how qualification is progressing across Europe and which teams have already confirmed their spots for the upcoming campaign.
