Premier League Golden Boot: Complete Winners List

Each year, the Premier League's top scorer is awarded the Golden Boot.

Every year, the Premier League’s top goal scorer is awarded the Golden Boot, a prestigious individual honor in English football. Over the years, the award has carried different names due to sponsorship deals. It was known as the Carling Boot from 1994 to 2001, the Barclaycard Boot from 2002 to 2004, the Barclays Golden Boot from 2005 to 2016, the Cadbury Golden Boot from 2017 to 2020, and the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Boot in 2021. Since 2022, it has been called the Castrol Boot.

In addition to the trophy, winners usually receive £1,000 for every goal scored during the season, which is donated to a charity of their choice. However, there have been exceptions—Robin van Persie, for example, earned £30,000 after scoring 26 goals in the 2012–13 season.

Thierry Henry holds the record for the most Premier League Golden Boots, winning the award four times. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was the first non-English winner, while Dwight Yorke was the first from outside Europe.

Both Henry and Alan Shearer claimed the Golden Boot in three consecutive seasons. In addition, Kevin Phillips, Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suárez, and Erling Haaland won the European Golden Shoe in the same seasons they topped the Premier League scoring charts. Henry achieved this double honor again in 2004 and 2005. Shearer, Hasselbaink, and Robin van Persie are the only players to win the Golden Boot with two different clubs.
