Teams from all over the continent are battling for a place in what is widely regarded as the most prestigious tournament in club football—especially with the expanded league phase offering even more visibility and financial rewards.

The 2025–26 UEFA Champions League will again feature 36 teams in its league phase. Of these, 25 clubs will qualify automatically based on their performance in their domestic leagues during the 2024–25 season. In addition, the winners of the current Champions League and Europa League will be granted direct entry.

Two more places will be allocated to teams from the countries with the best UEFA coefficient rankings, while another seven clubs will secure their places through the qualification rounds. At present, both England and Spain are set to receive one additional berth each due to their strong European performances.
